A campaign is two independent choices: an audience (a dynamic segment, a static list, or everyone) and a type. Batch campaigns send now, on a schedule, or on a recurring cadence. Triggered campaigns fire per-customer on an event or a trait change. A welcome email is triggered on "Signed Up"; a weekly digest is batch and recurring. Same model, both jobs.

The send pipeline

Every send runs the same pipeline: pre-send validation, segment evaluation, a suppression filter, entry controls, template rendering with tracking and unsubscribe, delivery through AWS SES, and post-send analysis that grades the result A–F and watches for anomalies.
